firing proficiency exams

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A team from the Human Resource Division and Development of the Police Regional Office 7 and Regional Special Training Unit conducted the firing proficiency examination for the first batch of policemen who will receive the Generation 4 Glock 17 9mm pistols.

The proficiency firing aims to allow policemen to familiarize themselves with the Glock pistol.

To qualify for the gun, a policeman must hit the target six out of 10, in less than three seconds per target, Police Officer 2 Dondie Callao, training officer of RSTU-7 said.Unlike other examinations, there will be no retake in the proficiency firing test, he added.

Immediately after the firing session, the results were uploaded to the national headquarters of the PNP, and the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, and around 700 policemen with PO1 to PO3 ranks, will await the decision on who will qualify for the Glock guns, Supt Alet Virtucio, NOPPO officer-in-charge, said.*JG
