Players from the Bacolod City-based Lopue’s Table Tennis Association and Sanlou Table Tennis Club saw action in a friendly tournament at the LOPTTA Center on November 30 to strengthen table tennis in the city, a press release from LOPTTA said.
Aside from playing against each other, the members of both clubs also had time to exchange thoughts and ideas on how to further improve the skill levels of the local players.
LOPTTA head Leonito Lopue said Sanlou was represented by its club manager Ferdinand Jong and they agreed to help each other for the good of table tennis not only in Bacolod City but also in the province of Negros Occidental.
To strengthen the goodwill between the two clubs, Lopue said he offered the Sanlou players free access to the training facilities of LOPTTA, including the table tennis Robot and international standard tables for practice.
Both clubs have agreed to share its coaching resources to help its members with the proper techniques and proper execution of strokes, the press release said.
Lopue also plans to invite all other table tennis clubs not just in Bacolod but all over Negros Occidental to be united and to form one group, the press release said.
A united table tennis industry in the Negros Occidental, he said will develop the current technical and competitive abilities of the players in the province, it added.*
