‘City gov’t revamp next year’

Department heads of the Bacolod City government should expect a revamp next year after assessment, Mayor Monico Puentevella, said yesterday.

Puentevella said he already started the revamp this month with the reinstatement of Dr. Salome Biñas as the Bacolod City Health Officer replacing Dr. Jovy Vergara, who gave up the post.

Vergara temporarily assumed as the Health Officer of Bacolod when Biñas vacated the position following the change of administration in July.

Puentevella also announced the designation of Pacita Tero as the incoming head of the Social Welfare and Development Office as Linda Ablanque is about to retire.

He said there is a need to “clean the house” because, there are employees who are working for the city government despite the fact that they are not qualified.

Puentevella advised those employees who are not qualified, to avoid embarrassing themselves by resigning.*APN
