Province bags 35 Up
Open basketball title

Province of Negros Occidental employed a trapping full court press to break the 78-all deadlock with 7:25 left in the fourth quarter en route to a 100-87 win against Talisay Basketblal Athletic Club in the titular showdown of the 35 Up Open Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University Gym.

With the effective execution of the full court press, the Capitol boys staged a 10-0 run and held TBAC scoreless in three minutes.

TBAC’s effort to bounce back fell on the wayside as Province sealed the win to claim its second title in the Basketball Coaches Association of Negros-organized tournament. The title came on the heels of Capitol’s rousing victory in the Inter Employees tournament, a week ago.
