Neg. Occ. has big chance
of winning award - DILG

BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Negros Occidental provincial government has a very big chance of winning the Department of Interior and Local Government Regional Search for Excellence in Local Governance, or EXCELL Awards, this year, DILG provincial head, Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag, said yesterday.

The winners of the DILG search will be announced on December 19.

Winning the award is vital to the provincial government employees as it will be the basis for Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. to grant them an incentive bonus in January.

The governor said it is very likely that the Capitol employees will receive a P35,000 bonus this month but the incentive bonus in January will depend on whether the Capitol wins the award.

The incentive bonus granted by the governor to the Capitol employees early this year was P20,000 each.

He did not say how much incentive bonus will be given early next year should the province win the EXCELL award.*CPG
