PCGA, Silay hold
outreach mission

The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 602nd Squadron, 602.12 Sea Hawk Division-Bacolod, and the Silay City government conducted a coastal community outreach program in Brgy. Balaring, Silay, recently, a press release from the city said.

Capt. Albert Lim Jr., director of the 602.12 PCGA Sea Hawk Division, said the activity included a coastal clean-up, mangrove planting, children and adults medical consultation, blood typing, cardiopulmonary resuscitation demonstration, a seminar on safety and peace, and lice treatment for children, the press release said.

The first outreach of the group in Silay was led by PCGA commander and project chair Rafael Golez, in cooperation with Mayor Jose Montelibano, Ceneco vice president Mike Maravilla, Lt. Perry Ong and LCDR Jorge Lim of the PCGA, the PCG Bacolod Station, Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade, nurses, and the Sincere Drugstore, the press release added.*

Education forum conducted

A forum on “Information Session on Studying in the United States” was held recently at the University of St. La Salle–Bacolod, in line with the Philippine-American Educational Foundation’s Fulbright Program, a press release from the school said.

The 2014-15 Fulbright includes the graduate student program, Fulbright-Philippine agriculture scholarship program for advanced research, foreign language teaching assistants program, Hubert H. Humphrey fellowship program, and advanced research and university lecturing senior program, the press release also said.

PACE officials inducted

The officers of the Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees were inducted by Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. at the provincial Capitol in Bacolod City yesterday, a press release from the Capitol said.

The officers are Ruben Diamante, president; Dino Gasendo, vice president; Renelo Lastierre, secretary; Leo Galvez, treasurer; Alfredo Dinoy, auditor; Ma. Josefa Cabasac, public information officer; Nimrod Sarmoy, sergeant at arms; and Edmund Calaor, Neil Mapa, Maureen Ga and Remy Grace Manalo as members of the Board, the press release added.*
