St. Paul University-Dumaguete and Silliman University will host the Sayaw Pinoy Philippines of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts–National Committee on Dance on Saturday, a press release from organizers said.
The national event will feature the Halili–Cruz Ballet Company in Manila, Technological University Philippines Dance Company, Senukwan Dance Company of Pampanga, the Melengas Dance Ensemble of Pagadian City, and the MEV Dance Company of Negros Oriental, the press release said.
The Handuraw Dance Troupe of SPUD and the Kabilin Dance Troupe of the Negros Oriental State University will also perform for free at the Father Louis Chauvet Hall of SPUD on Saturday.
The event is in line with the annual National Arts Month celebration and the Philippine Arts Festival under the auspices of the NCCA.
Last week, activities for the “2013 Taboan: The Philippine Writers Festival” under the NCCA–National Committee on Literary Arts was also conducted in Silliman, SPUD, NORSU and the Foundation University, all of Dumaguete City, the press release added.*
