A memorable birthday bash

The entire 21 Restaurant was booked for the special dinner celebration of well-loved Ildefonso Trinidad Guerrero’s 80th birthday bash recently.

An engineer by profession and an active civic leader, the soft-spoken Ilde, a widow with 11 children, has been described by her friends and admirers as the “woman for all seasons”.

She has been one of the moving forces of the Negros Occidental Garden Club, Mt. Kanlaon Lions Club, Soroptimist Intl. of Bacolod, Mother Butler Mission Guild, Bacolod Cultural Foundation Inc., Reach Foundation Inc., and Geodetic Engineers of the Phil., among others.

Ilde’s children and their families came all the way from abroad to celebrate their mother’s natal day with her. Son Vicente “Pinggoy” with wife Kim and son Clint came from New Jersey, daughters Judy Kerckhof from Atlanta, Georgia, and Vilma Cabanting from Los Angeles, California. Son Victor, who has always been with his Mom, was all smiles that evening.

Before the birthday dinner, the entire family of 14 treated Ilde to a seven-day grand holiday in Hong Kong and Macao, which included Honey, Emil, Alex and Cris with the two grandchildren. It was a time for bonding and expressing their love for their super mom, who has been a pillar of strength for them.

The resto was fully-packed with guests from her civic clubs, who all enjoyed the mouth-watering dishes especially prepared for the occasion. With everyone relaxed and full, Ilde’s friends started the fun with a repertoire of jokes and funny stories spiced up with songs from the talented members of the crowd.

It was indeed a memorable evening for the “lady of all seasons”.
