Murder, frustrated slay raps
to be filed against teenager

Murder and frustrated murder charges will be filed this week before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office against a teenager tagged in the fatal stabbing of an alleged homosexual, and injury to his friend, last week.

Station 2 chief, Senior Insp. Robert Dejucos, said yesterday that the charges will be filed against Ronel Muyco, 19, of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, and a carnival employee.

He said Muyco initially introduced himself as John Rey Gonzales, 15, of Brgy. Santa Isabela in Dipolog City, after he and his four companions were nabbed for the stabbing to death of Gerarld delos Reyes, 48, of Purok Langis in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod, at the vacant lot behind the Capitol building in Bacolod, Friday.

When the suspect was interrogated by Insp. Jovy Cabcaban, head of the Bacolod City Women’s and Children’s Complaints Desk, Muyco admitted using a fictitious name as he was afraid that he will be charged for the killing of delos Reyes, the police said.

Muyco had earlier told the DAILY STAR he did not participate in stabbing delos Reyes and his friend, Remond Rojo, 19, of Purok Langis, and that the crime was committed by his co-workers, whom he identified as aliases “Poypoy”, “Balot”, “Ryan” and “Noynoy”, who all evaded arrest.

Initial investigation showed that delos Reyes and Rojo were walking along Gatuslao Street behind the Capitol past midnight Friday when the suspects called their attention and offered them sexual favors in exchange for P50.

They then went to the vacant lot near the carnival, where the incident happened.

Delos Reyes died on the spot with nine stab wounds, and Rojo, who also had multiple stab wounds, is now confined at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.* *SMG

Man injured in
stabbing incident

A man was stabbed by one of three men on a motorcycle, who snatched the bag of the victim’s girlfriend, at Lacson Street, Bacolod City, at about 6 a.m. yesterday.

Raymund Ballaso, 25, of Purok Saylan in Brgy. 4, Bacolod, sustained stab wounds on his abdomen and right hand and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Case investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 Dante Victor Escorpion, said Ballaso and his girlfriend, Joy Mabaquia, 27, also of Purok Saylan, were walking in front of the DHYB Radyo compound on their way home when a motorcycle with three men on board approached them.

Ballaso said one of the men snatched Mabaquia’s bag and stabbed him when he fought back. He added that the suspects escaped on a black motorcycle with no plate number.

Escorpion also reported the arrest of Jason Mahilum of Brgy. Malanog, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, for allegedly hijacking a delivery truck at the Bacolod City Real Estate Development Corporation Port, at about 6:15 a.m. yesterday.

Samuel Alegria, 50, of Sibulan town, Negros Oriental, told the DAILY STAR that Mahilum threatened him with a gun and forced him to alight from the truck.

He was arrested after the other drivers blocked the hijacked vehicle.*APN
