V-Day in Bacolod
The St. Valentine’s Day in Bacolod City was really celebrated with style.
As early as 6 a.m., I passed by the Bacolod public plaza going to the San Sebastian Cathedral for a mass, and I noticed vendors very busy selling flowers of varied hues, shapes and scents to costumers, who were mostly students and young professionals.
Malls and other business establishments were also festooned with flowers and hearts befitting the celebration. On my way to L’Fisher Hotel at Lacson Street at around 7 p.m. for a Valentine dinner, I passed by the provincial Capitol Lagoon and Park, and the place was also full of families, friends and lovers.
Romantic music could be heard almost everywhere, and red, of course, was the color of the day.
The Ripples, Ricardo Hall and lobby of L’Fisher towards the La Proa ballroom were all crowded by families, friends and couples enjoying the love-filled night.*
Remember: God send us joy to keep our hearts young, hope to enrich our lives, leisure to refresh our spirit, and love to make our world beautiful.
