LP holds 1st rally in Dumaguete

Despite the cancellation of the trip of President Benigno Aquino III to Dumaguete City yesterday due to stormy weather, the Liberal Party-led coalition pushed through with its first rally in Negros Oriental.

Campaign manager Senator Franklin Drilon led the rally at the Negros Oriental sports complex in Dumaguete that was attended by LP local candidates for various elective positions in Negros Oriental and Siquijor provinces, a government press release said.

Senatorial candidates present at the rally were Paolo Benigno Aquino, Grace Poe Llamanzares and Jamby Madrigal. Gwen Pimentel, sister of Senator Aquilino Pimentel III, and Elvira Tootsie Angara, wife of Rep. Juan Edgardo Angara, were also present.

Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong (Neg. Or., 1st District), vice president of the LP in the Visayas, and a gubernatorial bet in the May 2013 polls, led other officials and candidates in welcoming the coalition members, and accompanying them in a motorcade around the city.

The Team PNoy was expected to leave for Cebu last night for a rally in Talisay City.*PNA
