Business training held

Managers of Public Employment Service Office and guidance counselors in Western Visayas were trained in project proposal preparation by international consultant Rodelin Malones at the Sugar Workers Development Center in Bacolod City, recently.

Ponciano Ligutom, regional director of the Department of Labor and Employment, said yesterday that the four-day training aims to equip participants with knowledge the business aspects and skills in project proposal making.

They had hands-on exercises in business planning, reporting, and critiquing using the Competency-based Economy through the Formation of Enterprises approach, he said.

Malones introduced to the participants the composite business scenario proposal which they need in making project plans for DOLE, Ligutom also said.

Information and theories presented were reinforced through small group activities with entrepreneurial characteristics, he added.

All the participants were required to come up with and submit project proposals, that, if feasible, DOLE will fund, Ligutom also said.*LTG
