GMA ‘Barangayan’ conducted

Personnel of the GMA Kapuso Network TV 13 and 30 in Western Visayas visited various local government units in Negros Occidental in line with the station’s “Kapuso Barangayan” program.

The first activity was in Brgy. 19A in Victorias City and Brgy.5, Silay City, December 8, where residents were treated to fun games and entertainment by local stand-up comediennes Ayah and Silver, and hosted by RGMA Campus Radio 107.1 DJ Papa’s Marco and Janno, a press release from the station said.

It also supported the 15th Foundation Week celebration of the Bacolod City College, Dec.13, at the Bacolod Government Center grounds hosted by DJ Papa Benjo; and the Family Day celebration of the Cansilayan National High School in Murcia, Dec. 20, the press release also said.

The network has promised renewed energy, aggressiveness and dynamism this year, with plans to saturate the province of Negros Occidental and to continuously bring true service, cheer and quality entertainment to Negrenses, the press release said.

Pyrotechnics vendors
hold induction

The induction rites and post-Christmas party of the Bacolod Firecrackers and Pyrotechnics Vendors Association was held at the Bacolod Government Center canteen recently, and attended by city officials.

The association is led by Rudy Banias with Verginita Tana, vice chair; Mary Ann Aguillon, secretary; Marissa de la Cruz, assistant secretary; Noel Laterno, treasurer; Analyn Banas, assistant treasurer; Allan Pacheco, auditor; and Melchor Deriada and Henjie Tana, public information officers.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia congratulated the officers and board members of the association, and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson said the city undertook the improvement of the pyrotechnics place of business and safety, a press release from the city said.

He said the vendors were transferred to a wider space at the NGC from the area near the BAYS Center for everyone’s safety and the smooth conduct of business, the press release added.*
