A teenager stabbed and killed a barangay tanod in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, at about 11 p.m. Saturday for still unknown reason.
Chief Insp. Levy Pangue, station 7 commander, identified the victim as Edgardo Dizon, 58, of Purok Guanzon in Brgy. Mansilingan.
Dizon was rushed with multiple stab wounds to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The suspect identified as Eric Gallantes, 19, of Purok Paglaum in Brgy. Mansilingan, evaded arrest.
Investigation conducted by Senior Police Officer 1 Jim Augustus Velasco showed that Dizon was on his motorcycle and had come from the Home for the Blind in Purok Paglaum when Gallantes blocked his way and stabbed him without provocation.
A manhunt was launched by Station 7 policemen to arrest Gallantes, Pangue said.
Meanwhile, two men were stabbed and hacked in barangays Felisa and Granada, in Bacolod City yesterday and Friday.
Rey Pladero, 26, of Purok Acasia in Brgy. Felisa was crossing the bridge on his way home when he was approached by the suspects, whom he identified as “alias Albert” and “alias Dennis” of Cadiz City, who ganged up on him and hacked him.
Pladero was rushed with multiple hack wounds to the CLMMRH, where he is now confined while the suspects evaded arrest.
At about 9 p.m. Fridau Lordnhey Moises, 19, of Hacienda Elisa in Brgy. Granada, Bacolod was stabbed by his neighbor Ronel Gardose, 21, with a fan knife.
Station 10 policemen are still determining the reason for the stabbing.*APN
