The three-storey annex building of SM City Bacolod that will house its department store will be ready for occupancy in April this year, its mall manager George Anthony Jardiolin said during the SM City Bacolod’s Media Night Saturday in Bacolod City.
Jardiolin said they will also begin phase 2 of their expansion this year, which will see the development of the North Wing into a wider, multi-level building, to accommodate more shops and restaurants.
“As our SM Prime Holdings president, Hans Sy, once said of the Bacolod expansion, this is SM Prime’s way of paying tribute to the residents of Bacolod City and of nearby areas,” he said.
They have offered this expansion only six years after SM made its home in Bacolod City, he added.
Jardiolin said not only do they wish to offer a premiere destination mall that is highly viable for business and leisure, their expansion is also a manifestation of SM Prime’s commitment to assist in the future development and progress of the fast emerging City of Bacolod.
The Event Centre will soon make serve as a temporary location for the stores that will be affected by their expansion, making the Media Night Saturday one of the few events left that they can host in the area, he said.
“This is of, course temporary, and we will still continue bringing in events and programs for the mall-going public to enjoy their stay at SM,” he added.
