‘BOSS may serve
4,000 businesses’

Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria said he expects that more than 4,000 businesses will be served in the Business One-Stop Shop that started operation at the second floor of City Hall Monday.

The BOSS is a system in which all government agencies involved in the processing of business permits are gathered in one area so that business owners, or operators, will have an easy time transacting their applications for new or renewal of permits.

Sagarbarria said the local offices involved are the Permit Section, City Veterinary, Environment and Natural Resources, Engineering and the Office for City Health Services; while the partnered line agencies are the Social Security System, PhilHealth, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Department of Trade and Industry.

City Administrator William Ablong said the BOSS was launched October 2010.

He added that, with its operation every January, the processing of permits take only a day from the previous three days to one week.*RG
