LTO Dumaguete chief
transferred to Bohol

The district chief of the Land Transportation Office in Dumaguete, Roland Ramos, has been transferred to a smaller district office in Bohol, effective yesterday, on orders of Undersecretary Eduardo Oban Jr. of the DOTC Operations and Transportation Division.

The transfer came a few days before the start of the Commission on Elections ban on the movement of government personnel on January 13.

Ramos said the transfer is part of his career development, and accepted it as a challenge to share his expertise with another LTO district office.

Construction of
Ayungon FMRs soon

A farm-to-market road project will be constructed soon in barangays Amdos and Manogtong in Ayungon town, Negros Oriental, under the Kapit Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Development Social Services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, a government press release said yesterday.

The 1.8-kilometer FMR in Amdos is worth P3.2 million, and the one in Manogtong, P1.9 million, and will benefit about 600 households, particularly farmers and their families, the press release also said.

The DSWD said the FMRs will give the farmers shorter route to transport their products such as bananas, corn, mangoes, coconut, sugarcane, and vegetables, to the market, that will save them time, money and effort.
