Talk ‘N Text eyes Game 2 win
against Rain or Shine in PBA

After taking Game 1 Wednesday night, 87-81, Talk N Text Tropang Texters head coach Norman Black sets his eyes on another win tonight, anticipating adjustments from coach Yeng Guiao of Rain or Shine as the two teams battle for the PBA Philippine Cup crown at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Black told Manila-based reporters that despite his team having a 1-0 edge, the fun is just about to begin for him and Guiao.

“I’m sure coach Yeng (Guiao of Rain or Shine) will be making adjustments for the next game, so we have to figure out what those will be and try to counter them,” said Black in a report published at the PBA website. “It’s a good start for us, but at the same time we know we have to win Game 2 and really get ahead in this series. Otherwise we know they can bounce back,” he added.

Rain or Shine is expected to bounce back tonight as statistics and number indicate that the Elasto Painters were able to beat Talk N Text in most departments, Guiao said, referring to statistics on offensive rebound, assist, and turnover and fastbreak points.

The Painters, however, need to improve their performance from the free-throw line as they made only 4 out of 21 in Game 1, while Texters made 10 of 27 attempts.

“It’s important we’re able to connect with our perimeter shots to open up some driving lanes,” explained Guiao. “The middle was just clogged, too tight for us. We (should be able) to balance our offense with a running game, our offensive rebounding and hit some three-point shots. That’s the key for us.”*with a report from pba.com
