Ordaniel likely
OIC cop chief

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Senior Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel has been recommended by Police Regional Office-6 to Camp Crame for Officer-in-Charge of the Bacolod City Police Office, Senior Supt. Celestino Guara, head of the Regional Police Human Resource Doctrine Development Division, said yesterday.

Guara told the DAILY STAR, however, that there is no relief order yet for Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz.

Guara also said that Regional Police Director Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz may recommend De la Paz for the Operations Division or as head of the Intelligence Division.

De la Paz’s two-year term as BCPO Director is set to end this month, police records show.

Asked for his reaction, Ordaniel said he will wait for the order from Camp Crame.

Chief Supt. Manuel Felix, PRO-6 Deputy Director for Administration, said Camp Crame will declare the position of BCPO Director open.

Once that happens, more names for De la Paz’s replacement will be released, he said.

Felix added that qualified officials can apply for the post and their applications will be scrutinized by the members of the Senior Officers Placement and Promotions, who will include their names in the list of the nominees to be forwarded to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

Leonardia will choose from at least five nominees and, if he does not like any of them, he can send the name of the one he prefers, otherwise, Camp Crame will choose who will assume as BCPO Director.

De la Paz, meanwhile, said the order for his relief may be released today and the turnover of command may take place tomorrow.*APN
