Talk ‘N Text registers
2-0 lead in PBA finals

Talk n Text beat Rain or Shine, 89-81, to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven final series of the PBA Philippine Cup as the MOA Arena last night,

Leading the surge for the Tropang Texters were Ranidel de Ocampo and Jayson Castro, who combined for 45 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Both players are contenders for the Best Player of the Conference award.

Despite expressing confidence that TNT is establishing a commanding presence in the series, coach Norman Black said Rain or Shine will continue to push the pace.

Elasto Painters coach Yeng Guiao, on the other hand, said they failed to establish good rhythm, and it will be over for them if they can not stop Talk N Text in Game 3.

While both De Ocampo and Castro played big last night, De Ocampo left an impact at the finish as he scored six of the team’s last nine points, to lead TNT scorers with 24 point.

The Texters also registered 44.6 percent in shooting while the Painters posted 35.5 percent.

Guiao said they had the chance to win the game but his players did not get their shooting rhythm.

He also cited TNT’s experience in the finals as another factor in the series.*with a report from pba.com
