San Carlos, Talisay top PHO list
of dengue cases in Negros Occ.

A report from the Negros Occidental Provincial Health Office yesterday showed that there were 1,219 dengue cases and five deaths in Negros Occidental from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2012.

In 2011 there were 1,116 dengue cases with 14 deaths, the same report said.

In 2012 the dengue deaths were one each in San Carlos City, Talisay City, Cadiz City, Sagay City and La Castellana.

The most number of dengue cases in 2012 were in San Carlos City with 245, Bago City – 171, Talisay City – 124, Silay City – 87 and Cadiz City – 61.

The other areas with dengue cases were Sagay City – 58, Calatrava – 51, La Carlota – 49, Kabankalan – 43, Murcia – 35, Toboso – 34, Victorias – 31, E.B. Magalona – 23, Escalante – 20, San Enrique – 18, Hinigaran – 17, La Castellana – 17;

Pontevedra – 16, Isabela – 14, Manapla – 14, Binalbagan – 13, Himamaylan – 12, Valladolid – 11, Cauayan – 10, Ilog – 9, Sipalay – 8, Moises Padilla – 7, Pulupandan – 7, Don Salvador Benedicto – 7, Hinoba-an – 6, and Candoni – 1.*CPG
