BINALBAGAN – Rep. Alejandro Mirasol yesterday said he has delivered P70 million in projects to his constituents in the fifth district of Negros Occidental since he assumed the post last year.
Mirasol, who is running for re-election under the Liberal Party, said these projects have addressed the education, health, water and road needs of his constituents.
Mirasol marked his 59 th birthday at the town hall here, and it was attended by Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez – LP Negros Occidental head, Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and his running mate, Board Member Melvin Ibañez, mayors of the fifth district and senatorial candidates Grace Poe and Francis Escudero.
Benitez has expressed his support for Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez Jr. who is running against Marañon in the May polls.
He also said he is supporting the reelection bid of Mirasol.
Also running for congressman of the fifth district under the Alvarez team is Board Member Emilio Yulo III.
Alvarez said he did not go to Mirasol's birthday yesterday, as he was not invited.
But Mirasol said he did not invite people to his birthday, people just came. “I thank all those who came to greet me on my birthday,” he said.
Mirasol said he has not seen Alvarez for some time and that he will follow the LP choice for governor.*CPG
