De la Paz gets
efficiency medal
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Outgoing Bacolod City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz yesterday received an efficiency medal from Police Regional Office-6 for his exemplary performance in the last two years.

The award was presented by PRO-6 Director Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz himself during the turnover of command ceremonies at the Bacolod City Police headquarters in the presence of Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and some city councilors.

Aside from the efficiency medal from PRO-6, the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry through its president Frank Carbon also gave a citation to de la Paz yesterday.

Carbon said that because of his excellent leadership and dynamism as City Police Director, the peace and order situation in Bacolod was at its best, making it conducive for the business sectors.

De la Paz thanked PRO-6 for acknowledging his efforts during his stint as BCPO Director and also expressed his gratitude to the business sector, especially the MBCCI, for their support, especially in the fuel subsidy of the motorized anti-street crime operatives.

On Tuesday Leonardia lauded De la Paz for his invaluable service to Bacolod City that had resulted in several accomplishments.

Under de la Paz’s leadership, BCPO was named the best police unit and was also nominated for the same category, at in the national level while the Women and Children’s Complaints Desk of the city police also emerged on top.

De la Paz also said that upon his assumption as BCPO head, he launched the sealing-off operation in Barangays 2 and 22 which helped eliminate the proliferation of illegal drugs in the area.

BCPO, he said, has made wonderful strides in the last two years and credited them to the collective efforts of every member of the Bacolod police.*APN
