Emperador acquires
Bodega San Bruno

Emperador Distillers Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alliance Global Group Inc., recently acquired Bodega San Bruno S.A., one of the biggest brandy companies based in Jerez, Spain, a press release from EDI said.

"This acquisition will further strengthen our position as the world's No. 1 brandy company by volume and help boost our competitiveness as a global brandy producer," Winston Co, president of Emperador Distillers Inc., said.

Emperador has entered into an agreement with Gonzalez Byass S.A. for the acquisition of San Bruno.

The company will acquire a 100 percent interest on Bodega San Bruno.

The deal will include acquisition of the San Bruno trademark, which has been registered since 1942, the press relase said. It also comprises vineyards in Jerez, the brandy-producing region of Spain, as well as a sizable inventory of high-quality and well-matured brandy, now being stored and aged in sherry casks in the bodegas, or wineries, in Jerez.

Emperador is the leading Philippine liquor company in terms of sales volume and the biggest-selling brand in the world selling more than 31 million cases of brandy in 2012, the press release said.*
