The Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative will reflect a decreased generation charge of P0.0737 per kilowatt-hour in the January power bills of its member consumers, its general manager, Eunora Sameon, said yesterday.
Sameon said that, instead of the P5.9661 per kilowatt-hour rate, the cooperative is passing on a generation charge of P5.8924 kWh.
She said the discount is due to the availment by the electric coop of the 3.2 percent prompt payment from Green Core Geothermal Inc. and that P2,859,012 has been deducted from the bills of customers as of January 4, 2013.
She said this was the second time that NORECO 2 had availed of the discount from GCGI.
It was granted a discount of more than P3 million after it paid its November billing within five days of receipt of the invoice. The markdown was passed on to the consumers, with the equivalent decrease of P0.067 kWh in the generation charge in the December billing month, she said.
She encouraged member-consumers to continue paying their electric bills on time to enjoy a lower rate in generation charge every time the cooperative is granted a prompt payment discount by GCGI.
Consumers who pay promptly can also participate in the prize draw of the cooperative, Sameon said.*RG
