Silliman looking for investors

The Silliman University in Dumaguete City is encouraging investment collaborations and partnerships with alumni and other stakeholders, a press release from SU said.

Jane Annette Belarmino, vice president for development, said the school is now considering proposals from individuals and organizations who want to participate in the continuing ministry of the SU through investment undertakings, like partnerships, joint ventures, and build-operate-transfer arrangements toward improving its facilities, such as the dormitories, laboratories, specialized equipment, convention centers, and other amenities that support academic learning and knowledge exchange, the press release also said.

Priority development thrusts are to utilize existing idle resources, like lands and buildings, to improve the learning experience of its growing student population, and to respond to mandated educational reforms; and to maximize revenues from investments to build up scholarship funds to widen the opportunities of those who are academically-qualified but financially-deficient, Belarmino said in the press release.

Those interested may submit their proposals or inquiries to Belarmino at the 3/F Leopoldo T. Ruiz Administration Hall, SU, or call 63 35 422-6002, local 320E or email vpd@su.edu.ph, the press release added.*
