The newest, the hippiest, and the most glamorous trends of 2013 will be shown in the “Fashion Face-Off: The 2013Fashion Trends” at SM City Bacolod Event Centre on January 26 at 5 p.m., a press release from the mall said.
Collections from Dickies, Kipling, Bench, Aksesoriz, Girbaud, Sabella, Bayo, Maldita, Mossimo, X-quisite, and Artworkwill showcase their newest and exciting collections lined up for 2013. A wide variety of accessories, bags and luggage, glittery dresses, artful blouses and shirts, trendy jeans and skirts will also be displayed, it also said.
The collections will be modeled down the ramp by festival queens, beauty titlists, athletes, and some of Bacolod’s popular young personalities; and live mannequins will add aesthetics to the show through the visual backdrop that will be incorporated by the organizers, the press release added.*

The 6th Pediaforum titled “Crisis Management in Pediatric Emergencies” will be held by the Philippine Pediatrics Society Western Visayas Negros Occidental Chapter, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 13, at the L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City, a press release from the organization said.
Doctors, nurses and other paramedical personnel are invited to attend the forum that will be conducted in cooperation with the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital and The Doctors’ Hospital Inc., the press release also said.
To be discussed are the variety of pediatric illnesses, mostly emergency in nature, by pedia sub-specialists from the region. Registration is until January 31.

Chantely Kae Gonzalez, who represented Brgy. Inapoy, was crowned as the Sinulog Queen 2013 of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Friday night.
Gonzales, who bested 11 other candidates, also bagged minor awards such as best in gown and interviews, aside from the P50,000 cash prizes.
Joy Magielen Jontilano, of Brgy. 3 Poblacion, the first runner-up, received P30,000.
Sherry Mae Las Piñas, of Brgy. Tagoc, second runner-up, won minor awards such as Ms. Photogenic and best in tribal costume.
Princess Rica Colina of Brgy. Carol-an bagged the best in swimwear attire, Catherine Joy Marin, Brgy. Pinaguinpinan, Ms. Congeniality and Ms. Sun Cellular, while the Best in Talent Award went to Keulani Marie Dizon of Brgy. 1 Poblacion.
Also among the top six finalists were Saiphil Nipales of Brgy. Tampalon, Colina and Patricia Megan Rubin, Brgy. Locotan. Other participants in the beauty pageant were Sweetzel Lima–Brgy. 5, Janine Eborda–Brgy. Bantayan; Jeanyfer Ozbot–Brgy. Oringao, and Ivy Clemente–Brgy. Hilamonan.
Meanwhile, Tribu Atiklan of Brgy. Binicuil was the grand champion of the 37th Sinulog tribal competition, and won special prizes, like the best in tribal banner, best in costume design, streetdancing and choreography, a press release from the city said.
In the fluvial parade, Brgy. Tan-awan was the champion, with barangays 2, 7, Linao and Magballo as first to fourth runners-up, respectively, and Salong, 6 and Orong as consolation winners.
The tribal showdown and fluvial competitions highlighted the Kabankalan festival, that was capped with a variety show and concert featuring ABS-CBN Kapamilya stars and the Brownman Revival reggae band last night at the public plaza, the press release added.*GPB

‘Batang Bida sg Talisay’ on
Talisaynons aged five to 13 years old are encouraged to join the search for the Batang Bida sg Talisay 2013, initiated by Mayor Eric Saratan and Rep. Alfredo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District), a press release from the organizer said.
Elimination round is at 6 p.m. on January 26, at the Talisay City Hall, and those who qualify will advance to the semi-finals on February 8 at the Talisay public plaza. Ten children will be chosen for the grand finals, at 6 p.m. on February 9, also at the plaza, the press release also said.
The grand champion will receive P10,000 and a scholarship to the Sikat Academy 4-in-1 summer workshop, the first runner-up, P5,000; and second runner-up, P3,000, aside from trophies and plaques. The other finalists will get P1,000 each.
The search is in line with the Charter anniversary and Pasidungog Festival of Talisay City in Negros Occidental, the press release said.
