Outreach held in Pontevedra
The Sugar Industry Foundation Inc. conducted its 126th medical dental mission in Casal-agan Elementary School, Brgy. Antipolo, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, recently, that benefited 278 sugar workers and their dependents, its press release said.
The mission, headed by Neolita Alminaza, was assisted by the AALCPI, Pontevedra Mayor Jose Ma. Alonzo, Brgy. Antipolo officials and principal Marissa Malban of the Casal-agan Elementary School.
Doctors Milagros Amarra, Terry Gasataya, Danilo Dueñas, Eirene Ayalin, Johnson Zuloaga and Mario Oliveros provided free medical consultations to 233 beneficiaries, dental extractions to 45 patients, and helped fed 200 children and some adults, the press release added.*

BGAAI officers elected
The Blue and Gold Alumni Association Inc. of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos elected its officers for 2013-2015 recently in Bacolod City, a press release from the group said.
The officers are Angelus Calansingin Diamante, president; Oscar Mesticampo, vice president; Lourdes Mirasol, secretary; Rosimar Gomez-Reyes, treasurer; Scarlette Pabalinas, assistant treasurer; Reymundo Magno, auditor; Amado Villacarlos and Carlos Legaspi Jr., public information officers; Jose Montalbo, business manager;
Mateo Valenzuela, legal officer; Chito Valderrama, historical officer; Annie Bachinela, protocol; and Nenuca Herman, Maria Luisa Templado, and Francis Cuaycong members of the board of directors, the press release also said.
Meanwhile, the UNO-R Supreme Student Government, headed by Bobb Bokingo, will spearhead the Environmental Week until January 26.
Activities are poster exhibit and EVIDEOKASI film showing, today until Saturday; and mangrove planting and awarding ceremony, 9 a.m. on Jan. 26 in Brgy. Punta Taytay, Bacolod City.
Yesterday, the SSG conducted poster-making and essay-writing contests, and the intercollegiate environmental quiz bowl at the University Students’ Center, while the search for the cleanest college council and the waste-to-art contest are ongoing until Saturday, the press release added.*
