Bago, Moises Padilla U13 booters
take lead in Negros First tournament

Young football talents from Bago City and Moises Padilla beat their respective opponents to share a 2-0 lead in Group A of the Negros First Under 13 Football Tournament at the Panaad Park and Stadium, Sunday.

The team from Bago Elementary School prevailed over St. Scholastica’s Academy, 7-1, to notch its second win after their 9-1 opening day victory over Mabini Elementary School, while Moises Padilla blanked Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, 8-0, to keep their record unblemished after a 6-2 triumph over SSA in last week’s curtain raiser.

Trailing the two teams from the south in Group A is Andres Bonifacio Elementary School who drew with Mabini ES, 3-3, while the latter seeks its first win in the tournament.

Bacolod teams finish second
in Iloilo Open Trio bowling tilt

Mulo Car Aircon/ASSFBI – Bacolod and Condura Ladies were first runners-up in the team competition, while Bacoleños Joe Latoza and Abe Leong topped the master bowler competition of the 11th Duckpin Bowling Association of Iloilo Open Trio 3rd Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog Cup 2013 held at the St. Elizabeth Bowling Alleys in Iloilo City.

After topping the six-game elimination phase, ASSFBI – Bacolod was beaten twice by Triple C – Ilioilo in the final to settle for first runner-up, while the Condura Ladies lost to Survivor Iloilo in the championship round.

Playing for the Mulo Aircon/ASSFBI were Allan Baer, Romulo “D’Gunner” Ramos, Boy Tisoy Villanueva, Cecil Silverio and Edgar Del Rosario.

More runners expected in
Red Cross MVR 2

The Philippine Red Cross Million Volunteer Run 2 slated on Feb. 10 in Bacolod City and other key cities in the country, is fast gaining headway with more professionals and youth registering, a press release from the organizers said.

Following the launch of the MVR Facebook site, registration for the participants in the 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K run categories have increased. Bacolod City Red Cross is the only Red Cross chapter that has organized the 21K run among the 100 chapters nationwide.

Also joining the event is the Kabankalan City Red Cross whose MVR2 in Kabankalan City will be held simultaneous with the run in Bacolod City, the press release said.
