A surprise party for Monse
Monserat Robles Tan did not know about the 69th luau birthday party organized for her by Phoebe and Freddie Pablico, Francis and Harrybelle Espera and friends from Class ’62.
The birthday gal thought that she would celebrate her birthday at the beach house of Msgr. Victorino Rivas in Punta Taytay. The organizers made her believe they would have a small party so she was surprised when they proceeded to May’s Organic Garden where everybody welcomed her with a birthday song.
A thanksgiving mass was also officiated by Msgr. Rivas as main celebrant, with Fr. Abner Pineda, Sharina Heights parish priest, Fr. Norman Segovia, and Fr. Francis Espera as co-celebrants.
More than 150 guests, all in Hawaiian outfits, joined the party. A big piñata with wallets, bags and different colorful accessories added to the fun.
The happy occasion was sponsored by her youngest sister and brother-in-law Rowena and Estanislao Martir from Texas who, secretly arrived two days before her birthday on January 19.
To dear Monse – Many more birthdays to celebrate and God bless you.*
Remember: Only God’s power can transform your life. In heaven, sorrow will give away to singing, because Jesus lives, we too will live.*
