The Department of Agrarian Reform is providing support services to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries to achieve the over-all goal of rural poverty reduction, especially in agrarian reform areas.
In an official announcement, DAR said it is inviting interested parties to participate in the “open and transparent” bidding process for the Business Development Services-Financial and Market Management of the Agrarian Reform Connectivity and Economic Support Services project nationwide.
Director Priscilla Ong, head of the DAR-Bids and Awards Committee at the DAR main building on Elliptical Road, Quezon City, said the ARCESS project provides strategic and sustainable support services in the form of professional service provision, including agri-extension services.
Capitol to watch sales
of sea shell products
The provincial government of Negros Occidental with the help of some government agencies will monitor the sale of crafts made of sea shells outside the Panaad Park and Stadium during the Panaad sa Negros Festival next year.
Provincial Tourism Officer Christine Manzenares said yesterday that this is because of the complaints of some tourists that the crafts they bought are being held at the airport since these are composed of endangered species of seashells.
Manzenares said the Panaad sa Negros Secretariat will monitor the sale of these crafts together with the tourism officers of towns and cities in the province, the Provincial Legal and Management offices, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

Easy STAT publication
Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz yesterday commended the Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics, with its publication of the Easy STAT Flyer, “An easy way to understand statistical concepts used in labor and employment.”
The flyer, published in June, is aimed to reach out to ordinary folks and/or workers and explain to them the statistical concepts in labor and employment, specifically, underemployment, through illustrations and citations of common examples known to the public, a press release from DOLE said.
