P7.7M road, electrification inaugurated

Former Bacolod Rep. Anthony Roland Golez Jr. attended the blessing and inauguration of a P7.7 million farm to market road project and the Sitio Electrification and Energization project in Purok Malipayon, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City, yesterday.

Central Negros Electric Cooperative president Arnel Lapore was also present during the inauguration since it was CENECO that undertook the electrification project funded by the office of Golez when he was a congressman.

The projects were implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways through Silver Dragon Construction Lumber and Glass Supply starting April 25, 2013 and was completed on June 23 with a contract cost of P7,759, 462.75.

Golez said he already saw the poor state of the road in the barangay 13 years ago when he served as a barrio doctor.

He said when he became congressman, he made sure that the Cabug road will be concretized as the people deserve good roads to hasten their mobility and also the growth of their community.

The new access road in Cabug will only be few kilometers from the concreted road connecting Bago City, he added.

Golez said the budget allocated for this project is P10 million and there is a savings of more than P3 million which can again be used to extend the road concreting project until it reaches Sum-ag river.

Golez said Barangay Cabug can be the next center, that will connect the many road networks such as the outer circumferential road (sugar road) project and the road connecting to Sum-ag and Bago City.

Lapore joined Golez in the ceremonial switch-on of the energization project funded by the Office of the President.

Golez said the electrification projects he funded for the energization of the puroks in Bacolod City will be implemented until 2014.

Also present were Barangay Captain Riboni de Paula and Purok president Edith Doctora and the people of Barangay Cabug, who were very appreciative of the projects.*CGS
