Cebu fuel cost lower by P10

Bacolod businessman Ed Alunan yesterday said fuel in Cebu is priced P10 less than in Bacolod per liter.

“Militant Cebu used to have an average overprice of P5 per liter compared to Metro Manila a few years ago,” he said. Their price variance with Manila is only about 80 centavos now, said Alunan, who returned from Cebu Saturday with photographs of pump prices at gas stations there.

Bacolod, on the other hand, also had a price gap of P5, but it has now increased to P7 to P8, he said.

“It's time for our local officials to take action. It’s been years” since Negrenses have been suffering from this price disparity, he said.

“At 200,000 liters, Bacolod motorists are being robbed P1.4 million daily. This has been going on for around 8 years,” Alunan said.*CPG
