Basecom beats Sweet Crystal,
Royal Star prevails over Jast

It was an unexpected reversal of fortune in the endgame for Basecom and Royal Star as both teams survived a lackluster first quarter performance to pull off a convincing win against Sweet Crystal and Jast Enterprises in Class B of the Fil- Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Intercolor Basketball Tournament at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym in Bacolod City.

Basecom beat Sweet Crystal, 72-65, capitalizing on a full court man-to-man pressure in the second haf after falling as much 12 17 points behind in the first quarter.

Royal Star, on the other hand, beat Jast Enterprises, 79-70, as they employed a similar half court man-to-man defense at the start of the payoff quarter to get away with the win.

Retro paces NSL bowlfest

Retro Team led in the NSL Non-rated Trio Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The Retro bowlers now have a total score of 3,061 pinfalls, with ASSFBI to second overall with 3,020 points.

Playing for Retro are Iran Pielago, Reymund Lopez, Lyndon and Cero Cordova.

Flores Team and LJP Trading/NPBC were third and fourth with 2,899 and 2,835.

WNU aspirants
team downs USLS

NOPSSCEA defending champion West Negros University downed University of St. La Salle White, 62-44, to prove that they are still the team to beat in the aspirant category of the BCAN pre-NOPSSCEA tournament at the St. John's Institute Activity Center in Bacolod City.

The sophomore and freshmen team of WNU replicated SJI's 86-78 triumph over USLS Green during the opening of the tournament.

USLS Black avenged its sister team loss by beating University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos, 58-34, while Trinity Christian School survived St.Benilde School, 47-45, to share the lead with the early winners.
