The AFS Intercultural Programs Philippines is calling for applicants for the CORE Program, Japan Scholarships and Class Exchange and its agents will be in Negros Oriental and Siquijor today for the selection process.
High school institutions in the country are invited to send qualified students to undergo the selection process. In Dumaguete City, it will be held at the MAT Conference Room of St. Paul University Dumaguete.
The CORE Program runs for 11 months, or a very short exchange program of two weeks, with any of the 60 AFS partner countries. Exchange participants will share in the daily activities of host family while attending school or doing community service.
AFS is an international, volunteer-based, non-profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. It sends outstanding and deserving students for an intercultural learning experience abroad through international exchange programs.
The Japan scholarship program offers intercultural learning opportunities in various cities in Japan; the study tour/class exchange is a two or three-week program that engages students or educators in an educational and cultural immersion; and the class exchange programs are fully customizable in terms of implementation timeline and program content but must always have home-stay and intercultural learning component.
