National Youth Congress
set July 19-21 in Bacolod
The 11th National Youth Congress will be held by the Private Schools and School Administrators’ Association of the Philippines at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum in Bacolod City on July 19-21, its press release said.
The congress, on the theme “PRISSAAP’s Legacies: Beyond Limits, Beyond Time”, aims to enhance the leadership skills of the participants through symposia and workshops, and to develop their talents and skills through contests, like vocal and duet, acoustic duo, English/Filipino essay-writing, poster and slogan making, choral competition, dance sports, interpretative dance, voice choir, hip hop dance and lip synchronization, the press release also said.
OIC regional director Arnold Siena of the Department of Education will deliver the keynote address and Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella the welcome remarks.
Similar events for Luzon and Mindanao chapters will be held on July 26-28 at the Monte Vista Hotel in Mt. Makiling, Pensol, Calamba City, Laguna, and Corales Extension in Cagayan de Oro City, respectively, the press release said.

A medical and feeding outreach will be held by the Bacolod Columbia Marketing Inc. in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 19, to mark its 34th anniversary, its press release said.

There will be 200 beneficiaries for both the medical consultation and the feeding program, games will be organized for the children, and free medicines, clothes, and reading glasses to residents, the press release also said.
The event, that will be led by BCMI general manager Alfonso Choa, aims to give back to Bacoleños for their support and loyalty, and to foster unity and corporate social responsibility among the employees.
The mission commemorating the start of the company, from a single owner-type jeep to a recognized business in marketing and distribution covering Negros Occidental and Oriental, with more than 50 delivery vans and 200 employees, the press release added.*
