4 wanted men arrested

Four men wanted for estafa, illegal gambling, theft, and illegal drugs charges were nabbed by the police in Bacolod City on Monday.

Station 3 chief, Senior Insp. Dianne Grace Aquitania, said the suspect, Noel Pahilagao, 42, of Purok Santol, Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod was served a warrant of arrest for estafa when he went to the station to complain about a physical injury incident at about 2:15 p.m.

Pahilagao said he was shocked when the police told him that he has a pending warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Gorgonio Ybañez of Branch 44, with a bail bond of P80,000 set on him.

He said that in 2009, his employer had asked him to sign a document, and because he does not have the proper education, he signed it without knowing that they will charge him for estafa.

Station 4 commander, Chief Insp. Adonis Rosales, meanwhile, said they arrested Joebert Cari-an, 32, of Brgy. Pahanocoy, on the strength of a warrant of arrest for illegal gambling, at about 2:45 p.m. at the lock-up cell of their station.

Cari-an’s warrant was issued by RTC Branch 42 Judge Fernando Elumba, who set his bail at P20,000, police records show.

Oliver Olvidado, 31, was nabbed by Station 2 policemen at his house in Purok Lampirong, Brgy. 2, Bacolod at about 6:30 p.m. for theft charges, issued by RTC Judge Franklin Demonteverde, of Branch 44, who set his bail at P30,000, police records show.

Station 9 chief, Senior Insp. Jerick Filosofo, said that at about 7 p.m., they served the warrant of arrest for illegal drugs charges to Rodel Llopar, 32, of Purok Kagaykay, Brgy. 2, issued by RTC Branch 47 Judge Edgar Garvilles, who set P129,000 as bail bond for him.*SGG
