Biado bests compatriots in
Hard Times Open

MANILA- Filipino pool star Carlo Biado swatted away colleague Alex Pagulayan's challenge in the Hard Times 10-Ball Open Championship, 11-1, at Crooks and Castle in Bellflower, Los Angeles, California yesterday.

The Filipinos fashioned out a 1-2-3 finish with Dennis Orcollo placing third in the tournament.

“I believe that Carlo (Biado) stands a good chance of becoming a world champion,” said his manager, sportsman/businessman Ceferino "Perry" Mariano, also the, head of Bugsy International Promotions.

Biado, a former caddie before becoming a billiard player took home $ 5,300 while runner-up Pagulayan pocketed $3,200 in the annual tourney's fourth edition.

Previous Filipino Hard Times billiards winners are Lee Van Corteza in 2010, Pagulayan in 2011 and Dennis Orcollo in 2012.

The Filipino campaign in the US pool circuit is supported by Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines, Bugsy International Promotions and Puyat Sports.*PNA
