Election officer has 72 hours
to answer complaints: Suarez

Elections Officer Allan Hao has 72 hours to explain his disappearance and the non-payment of teachers and other personnel who served in the May 13 elections in Hinobaan town, Negros Occidental Provincial Elections Supervisor Jessie Suarez said yesterday.

The 72 hours will be from receipt  of the order for him to give an explanation, said Suarez,  who has been tasked by the COMELEC regional office to investigate complaints against the election officer.

Suarez had said earlier that Hinobaan district schools supervisor Elizalde Reliquias has complained  that P336,500 has yet to be paid to the teachers and other personnel,  and that they could not locate the town’s election officer.*CPG
