2 nabbed for illegal
gambling, loose gun

An 18-year-old teenager was arrested by the Bayawan City Police allegedly for possession of an unlicensed firearm yesterday.

Police identified the suspect as Jeno Cabanog, 18, of Sitio Cansinacao in Barangay Cansumalig, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, who was charged for violation of Republic Act 8294, or the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, after the inquest proceedings at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Dumaguete City yesterday.

Cabanog was nabbed with a .38 snub-nosed caliber revolver with five live ammunition, and a black and white Honda Wave motorcycle that was reported stolen Sunday in Sitio Mohon, Brgy. Maluay, Zamboanguita town, and owned by Rosel Tubojon.

Meanwhile, a resident of Barangay Mag-abo, Amlan in Negros Oriental was nabbed recently allegedly for illegal gambling, police records show.

The police said Antonio Nolram Silagpo, 56, was arrested with betting stubs, a ball pen, P220 in bet money, a Nokia cellphone and a black Yamaha Crypton motorcycle, with plate number 6707 GK.

He is now detained at the lockup cell of the Amlan Police Station.*RG
