Lacson to review
proposed projects

Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Lacson yesterday said he hopes to go over a list of proposed projects to be covered by the unrestricted funds of the provincial government to see if some of them can be done next year.

The vice governor said he hopes to propose to Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. that part of the unrestricted funds be used for the needed P180 million to complete the Negros First CyberCentre so the provincial government will not have to borrow the entire amount.

The vice governor and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan are set to meet with the governor over lunch tomorrow.

Lacson said it is really up to the governor how the unrestricted funds should be used, but he is hoping to make some suggestions.

On allegations that some barangay officials are into the illegal drugs business, Lacson said that if law enforcers know about this, they should implement the law rather than making pronouncements, and hit hard at the drug pushers.*CPG
