Gun ban raps filed

A man, who pulled out his homemade firearm in a rumble during a benefit dance in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, was charged for violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban and Republic Act 8294, or illegal gun possession, yesterday.

Supt. Santiago Rapiz, Victorias Police chief, said Michael Jaleco, 28, of Hacienda Corazon in Brgy. 10, was nabbed by barangay tanods in the same hacienda at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

A homemade .38 caliber firearm without serial number and four ammunition were recovered from the suspect, who is now detained at the Victorias Police lockup cell.*SGG
