Degamo eyes Siaton cop
as next NOPPO director
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo said Thursday he will recommend a police officer from Siaton, Senior Supt. Petronelli Baldebrin, to replace Senior Supt. Noli Romana as director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office.

Romana, who was assigned to NOPPO a day before the election period started on January 13, is up for transfer to Cebu.

Degamo said he believes Baldebrin is qualified to be NOPPO director as he is from the province and has a good track record.

He, however, added that he has not yet received the list of candidates to replace Romana, who is being eyed as the next director of the Cebu City Police Office.

Romana said he had applied for the post in Cebu City before his assignment to Negros Oriental, to replace Senior Supt. Edward Carranza, who was promoted to the Police Regional Office in Region 7.*JFP
