Bacolod honoring
top citizens today

Two outstanding citizens of Bacolod City will receive the Ang Banwahanon Award in ceremonies to be held starting 6 p.m. today at the grand lobby of the Bacolod City Government Center.

The Ang Banwahanon Award, which is a prestigious award given to citizens of Bacolod in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the city, will be conferred on Fe Remitio and businessman Ben Ortega.

This was institutionalized through City Ordinance No. 494,

Sixteen individuals and organizations will also receive the Mayor’s Special Citations.

Bacolod Congressman-elect and Mayor Evelio Leonadia will give citations to the following individuals: Nabil Edmond Salamouni of Panasiatic Call Centers, businessmen Ricardo “Cano” Tan, Leonito Lopue, Jet Lee, Eduardo Gulmatico and MassKara festval director Eli Francis Tajanlangit.

Government officials and employees comprising of Dr. Julius Drilon, Chief of Hospital of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital; City Administrator and former Bacolod Rep. John Orola; City Treasurer Annabelle Badajos;

Public Employment and Services Office head and Secretary to the Mayor Moises De La Cruz; Bacolod City Risk Reduction Management Council head Jose Maria Vargas, acting Social Services and Development head Sally Abelarde, City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Officer Brenda Burdeos and Socorro Detangco will also receive the citations.

Leonardia will also present citations on the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade-Bacolod and the Barangay Health workers.*CGS
