The Bureau of Internal Revenue target for 2013 is P1.253 trillion, which is 18.43 percent higher compared to last year’s actual collection of P1.058, BIR deputy commissioner Nelson Aspe, said yesterday.
The BIR Revenue Region 12-Bacolod collection goal is at P7.998 billion which is 27.19 percent higher compared to its 2012 collection of P6,288,740,194.46, RR12 director Perfecto Aranas, said.
Aspe who was in Bacolod City for the Revenue Region 12-Bacolod tax campaign kick-off ceremony, said they have to raise their target every year to increase people’s awareness of tax compliance and help the government generate funds.
Evasion charges filed vs. 2
The Bureau of Internal Revenue has filed tax evasion cases against two taxpayers covered by BIR Revenue Region 12, Bacolod City while seven others were submitted to the office of the BIR Commissioner Kim Henares this year, RR12 director Pefector Aranas, said yesterday.
Aranas said the cases of two tax evaders whose names he withheld, are now with the Department of Justice and the seven others are now being evaluated by the BIR legal and enforcement group.
BIR deputy commissioner Nelson Aspe, who was in Bacolod City for its tax campaign kick-off ceremony at the Bacolod Pavilion Hotel also said that five tax evaders had been convicted and many other cases have been elevated to the criminal tax court.
‘P6-M irrigation job to
help 130 farmers’
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. led the ground breaking Wednesday of the Suay-Buenavista Communal Irrigation Project in Himamaylan, Negros Occidental.
Worth P6,053,694.44, the project is aimed to benefit 130 farmers in the area, a press release from the Capitol said.
The irrigation initiative will be fully constructed in 210 days and will serve a total of 96 hectares of farmland, it added.
