Sugar Regulatory Administrator Ma. Regina Bautista-Martin will lead the Philippine delegation to the 9 th SugarWorld Asia on April 28 to 30 at ParkRoyal, Yangon, Myanmar that will discuss the country's sugar market and its preparation for the Asian Free Trade Area by 2015.
Martin will be joined by SRA chief regulatory officer Jose Rojo-Alisla who will talk on ethanol market developments.
The conference will discuss perspectives of sugar markets of Brazil, India, Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand, and Pakistan, Martin said.
Speakers from other countries are U Soe Lin and U San Thein, president and vice president of the Myanmar Sugar Manufacturer's Association, Dr. Prasert Tapaneeyangkul, advisor Cristalla and former secretary general of Office of the Cane and Sugar Board, OCSB director Rangsit Hiangrat of Thailand, Lui Hande, vice chairman of China Sugar Association, and Suryo Alam, chairman of Sugar Refiners Association-Indonesia, she said.
Joining them are Dr. Sylvio Ortega, administrative director of Companhia Mineira de Açúcar e Álcool-Brazil, Mukesh Kumar, managing director of Vishwanath Sugar and Steel Industries Ltd.-India, Martin said. Dr. Manjunatha S Rao, general manager of EID Parry India Ltd., Javed A Kayani, former chairman of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association, Prof. T R Preston, senior editor of Livestock Research for Rural Development, and Pam Yates, senior food ingredients analyst for APAC, Mintel, will also come, she added.
