The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dumaguete presented yesterday a Resolution of Appreciation to the Perdices family for donating 5,293 square meters of land in Barangay Candau-ay, Dumaguete, for a low cost housing project of the Habitat for Humanity, recently.
The resolution was presented to Boloney Perdices and other members of the family by Vice Mayor Allan Cordova and the councilors at the SP session yesterday.
Perdices said his family had long decided to donate the land as they know that more housing projects are needed in the city. He added that they also want to continue the legacy of his brother, the late Negros Oriental Gov. Agustin Perdices, who started the housing project during his term.
The former governor succumbed to stomach ulcer on Jan 2011. His son, Tenchu Perdices, thanked the city government for its recognition, and said he hopes the legacy of his father will continue to live on and be an inspiration to others.*MA
