21 brgys receive P2.1 million

Checks worth P2.1 million were received by officials of 21 barangays of E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, from Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. during distribution rites at the Nature's Village in Talisay City Monday.

Barangays Batea, Alicante, San Jose, Gahit, Alacaygan, Tuburan, Tomongtong, Damgo, Brgy. III-Poblacion, Pasil, Sto. Niño, Cudangdang, Latasan, Brgy. I-Poblacion, Nanca, Manta-angan, Consing and Tanza each received P100,000 for their livelihood projects and investment capital of the residents, a press release from Capitol said.

San Jose received an additional P10,000 for its Barangay Day celebration, while Manta-angan got P10,000 for the coastal and drainage clean-up activities, the press release said.

Marañon urged the barangay captains to make good use of the projects entrusted to them for the benefit of their constituents, the press release added.*
