Jehovah’s to hold assembly

Jehovah’s Witnesses is urging Bacoleños and Negrenses to attend its special assembly day on Sunday, 9:10 a.m., at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City, its press release said.

The activity, on the theme “Safeguard your Conscience” based on 1 Timothy 1:19, is open for free to the public. JI has 176,001 witnesses in 3,091 congregations in the Philippines; and more than 7,659,019 members in 109,403 congregations in 236 countries, the press release also said.

Panaad dance contest set

The “Best of Festival Dances” competition, to be participated in by the 32 towns and cities of Negros Occidental, is scheduled on April 8 to mark the opening of the 20th Panaad sa Negros Festival celebration on the theme “Panaad@20: Celebrating Negros as the Philippines’ Leader in Organic Agriculture”.

The concept, theme of costume and performance should depict the unique character of each local festival, and winners will receive P50,000 for the first prize, and P40,000, P30,000, P20,000, and P10,000 as second, third, fourth and fifth prize, respectively, a press release from the Capitol said.

Criteria are choreography, or relevance to the theme, clarity of ideas presented and composition, 30 percent; performance, including mastery, unity and precision, skills and technique, discipline, dynamics, 30 percent; theme/concept that depicts the unique character of the festival, 20 percent; costume, or visual impact and appropriateness to the presentation, 10 percent; music, five percent; and hand props, five percent, the press release also said.

The Provincial Tourism Office will accept entries until March 20, the press release added.*
