Dengue cases up 394%

Dengue cases in Negros Occidental from January 1 to February 23 this year were 394 percent higher than the same period last year with two deaths, a Provincial Health Office report said.

The two deaths this year were in Bago and Sagay cities.

The report also said there were 470 dengue cases in Negros Occidental from January to February 23, compared 95 in the same period last year.

The dengue cases were reported in Talisay City – 64, San Carlos City – 55, Victorias City – 42, Bago City – 37, Silay City – 28, La Carlota City – 27, Escalante City – 23, Murcia – 22, Sagay City – 18, Kabankalan City – 17, Manapla – 17, Calatrava – 15, E.B. Magalona – 15, Binalbagan – 12, Isabela – 12, La Castellana – 12, Himamaylan City – 10, Cadiz City – 7, Don Salvador Benedicto – 7, Hinigaran – 6, Ilog – 4, Toboso – 4, Moises Padilla – 3, Pontevedra – 3, Valladolid – 3, Pulupandan – 2, Sipalay City – 2, Cauayan – 1, Hinoba-an -1, San Enrique – 1.*
